amphibious assualt help

hey i just bought the game, im playing as the danes. i was wanting to invade england from norway (ihave a port there) or one of the provinces to my east from sweeden. problem is i cant figure out how to get my troops across water. do you have to position your boats a certain way and load them on or something? i need some help

Welcome to the Org forums stlcard3. At least you figured out how to invade our forums.

To invade, you need chain of ships from your Port province to the province you wish to invade. That chain can be broken by an enemy (or soon-to-be-enemy) ship. If you have an unbroken chain of ships, all coastal provinces you can invade (move to) will by highlighted in white along with the neighboring provinces that are normally highlighted when you move an army. I hope that was a clear enough explanation.

yes, it took me a while to work out sea invasions, but now i can do them, and playing as england in my curent game, it helps abit.....

I want to add to this that having a huge fleet that stretches to as many different provinces as possible is an extremely good thing. When I learned to do this I was pretty amazed at just how much easier it was to get my troops where I wanted them quickly. You are the Danes with more than enough armies for what you are doing in the area of your empire and you see a few spanish provinces have been taken by rebels? Just move that full stack of vikings down to Leon and take it. This is also a good way to spread havok by spawning dozens of inquisitors, spies and assasins and cutting them loose in the world- watch as princesses and emmisaries die, inquisitions spin out of control, great generals are shamed and the loyalty of your enemies populations drops.
