So I beat the Shogun campaign the other night (again) and I was bored afterwards, so I decided to try something a little different. I went to Custom Battle and chose the ironing board map and picked a single kensai unit (full honour, weapon, and armor bonuses) as my entire army and the exact same for my CPU opponent. The battle opens and the two sword-saints walk across the field to meet each other midway. After about 10 minutes of sitting there I became bored and got up and walked away to get ready for bed. 10 minutes more later, when I came back, they're still fighting. Finally, over 20 minutes after the battle started, one of them routs...

Did the winner get an honour increase?

Next time you are bored, do a kung fu movie with 16 battlefield ninjas on both sides. If you pick a map with lots of woods like Yamato(?), you could also play a game of hide-and-seek.

If we are in spectacular fights, put some Naphta throwers in also for pyrotechnics

I like hide-and-seek, and fireworks. I think they're both cool.

What I'm really curious about though is exactly how did the game calculate the winner if both of them had the exact same honour level, weapon and armour bonuses, degree of fatigue, and were both on even ground?

And no Gregoshi, the winner didn't get an honour increase since he didn't actually kill him. However, I think the other one should get a shame penalty for running away from a duel.

And I thought Kensais were unroutable.

impetuous (happy as flanks are unprotected, more heads to take)

impetuos (happy about enemy numbers, even more heads to take)

very impetuous (happy that friends are routing, more glory for me)

pissed off ( routing friends are returning to steal all the glory

very pissed off ( friends rout the enemy and now has to chase them down to kill them

I've had some fun with them in battles I remember sending a kensai after another kensai and they bothe killed each other.

What I find funny is the battlefield ninja will make mincemeat out of the Kensai the Kensai will tear up them ashigurus and ashigurus will beat battlefield ninja if they can engage them.

Or better yet watch a kensai charge into a bunch of arquebruisers.

So how many people here have had there Kensai's rout as I never had this happen and had to rout them myself to save there little hides

They seem to be alot like beserkers in MTW, in that they apparently will only rout if they are utterly exhausted and severely ountnumbered. I've had both units rout a number of times, but then again, I basically charge them head on into enemy lines alone to break them up. What else are they good for?
