    Unhappy

OK, I've been making a pretty basic mod for my self on MTW VI.

Rather than add new factions, I've just been overwriting the details of the original ones.

All is going well, but I have an odd problem with the names of my generals. I've changed all the English names in 'Names.txt' to Elven ones (it's a fantasy Mod I'm making - a Tolkienesque sort of affair). It works fine for the most part - but I keep getting the name 'Richard' appearing now and then. I've looked in all the Loc text files and can't find where this 'Richard' name is defined anywhere I thought it might be in 'Changes.txt', but I couldn't find it there, I know the problem isn't in 'Names.txt' because I've defined 'Richard' as something else here, so I'm out of ideas I even did a Find search on the word 'Richard' on all the files in the Loc folder, but couldn't find it.

What am I missing? Is the name hard-coded, or am I just looking in the wrong place?

The same thing is happening to the French faction too - I changed all the names in Names.txt, but I still keep getting 'Stephen' occasionaly.

Thanks in advance for any help,

    Lom

The Names in question are found in the Default Heroes file in the Forenames Lists for the English=Richard is a kings name and for the French= Stephen but is not a Kings name, I have come acroos this problem also with some Heores names I tried to change and no matter what I edited it stayed the same, The Loc files are full of translations and they are connected in what seems the oddest ways, I dont know why they would show up if they are not declared in names txt but it happens, so give the Default Heores file a look and read the heading it has some good info on setting up new names lists for factions. OK, thanks a lot man I'll give that a try.

If that doesn't work, I'll just have to bear it. It's only a cosmetic change really, I think I can deal with the odd Elf being called Richard.
