Troops won't run if they're in the Exhausted or Totally Exhausted fatigue levels, or sometimes when going up a very steep slope.

Clearly your probably charging them too early on and they naturally say To hell with this I'm not running yet

Single clicking on an enemy works well because the troops will march towards them and then charge when they get in range... Charging your men too soon will just Knacker them out.

Fast Light cavalry are your best bet if you want agile troops to run about everywhere.

If selected all as one and ALT-moved, they'll move as fast as the slowest unit. If you have something slow like Pavise Arbalesters or Gothic Sergeants, all of your units will run at that running speed, which wont be very fast.

even the slowest unit can run,

when units run they 2 grey arrows showing that they run if they dont run cause they are routing.

but if i double click i still only have one grey arrow, which means they still walking.

i.e if my re inforcement have arrived i need that unit to run quick somwhere but they still walking.

so please everyone stop with those dumb anser, if theres no clever dont bother anser at all.

Easy someone, folks are trying to help you, and giving you several suggestions. The quickest way to be ignored is to bite the hand that feeds you.

Now: you say that dbl-clicking the enemy does not induce your troops to run vs walk. From what distance? What kind of troops? These details matter. Some troop types move faster than others. And tired troops will only walk sluggishly to yet another battle in the heat of day lugging their armor and weapons.
Be well. Do good. Keep in touch.

Often if you dbl-click to get a grp of units to run/charge...they just walk. Better to command each unit. That said, I sometimes have the same problem. I dbl-click to a location I want a unit to run to, but it just walks; usually just solved by repeating order.

do you still have the same problem with fatigue disabled?

Happens to me to but I notice what causes this for me. When I do my first click it is over the enemy unit but the second click occurs after the army marches forward and the cursor is over another enemy unit or on the ground. Where I have my biggest problem is when I have 2 enemy units stacked on top of each other and the second click ends up on the other unit. My other problem is I slightly lag on my PC in the beginning of a big battle when misslefire is flying everywhere and this slight lag I get causes the monitor not to show the cursor in the proper location. Even if the cursor is off by a few milimeters this can make a big differance.

I can't explain cursor lag all that well but understand it quite well. Maybe some techie could explain it well if you do not understand what it is

It happens to me too. But I have observed it only with multi-unit selections: i.e., if you select multiple units and double click somewhere on the map usually its only one of the bunch that really runs; the rest just walk...
