Thread: No advert

While I do love this site and I understand you must pay the bills, I will not return while you have mainpage popups that I cannot close. MP3.com had popups for Red Dragon that you had to sit through. I`ll be damned if someone forces me to watch an advert.

I totally agree with you, they shouldn't make any ads we have to watch (unless it's for Kikkoman, of course).

Pop-Up Stopper Free Edition works marvelously, and I mean MARVELOUSLY, not a single pop-up have I received since downloading it...and it's free, and if you want the pop to up, just hit CTRL. Great stuff, much simpler than getting an ad-free domain for the site...

Hajji Giray I was the founder of the Crimean Khanate, in 1438. He was a direct descendant of Genghis Khan himself--and he is also my lots-of-greats-grandfather. You can read about him, his dynasty, and his Khanate here. (Page was originally in Turkish, so the writing is rather poor.) You can view pictures of the Crimean Khans' palace at Bakhchisaray ("The Crimean Alhambra") here (use the navigation bar on the left to get around).

    Yep, that's right.

been using it for almost a year and it's 90% accurate.

    So, very much worth while.

Also, IIR, the Org is not to blame for this, it is the hosts that force them to have the pop up ads. Anyway, I just have a link straight to the forums, I never bother reading the frontpage.

I was also very pleased with Pop-up Stopper. It's more than 90% effective. More fancy programs that aren't free can even let you get rid off the normal banner commercials.
It would sad to stop using this great site when the problem can be solved.

I wasn't aware we even had pop-ups. Use a real browser like Opera or Mozilla and you too will be completely unaware of the existence of pop-ups.
