I think many people including myself would disagree, because a mod might not change the entire look and feel of a typical MTW campaign in no way makes it simple or uninteresting. Some mods that change various aspects of gameplay but do include new units or factions can still be very challenging, take the very popular MedMod which does not give the game a new look in any way but brings the level of gameplay to new and challenging heights.Originally Posted by [b
To say that a Mod lacks merit becuase to you it seems simple or you could do it yourself no big deal is an insult.
I have seen many mods being produced here of late and many of them good quality, and involve alot of work, they may not have the broad sweeping changes you prefer to but that is not what makes a Mod good. Everyone has different tastes, likes, dislikes and every Mod will not cover everything for everybody, but any Mod takes effort, thought and time, some more than others. But I respect anyone who goes through the effort to make a Mod and release it for the community to enjoy. My first Mod was simply enabling the Swiss to be a playable faction in all periods, simple yes but also a learning experience. I am currently working on a Napoleonic Mod for MTW VI which has been in the works for sometime, inolves alot of work from a team of Modders, but the scope of a Mod alone does not give it merit, so before you make comments about simple mods try them out first you might like them.
