Well my king just died and has a 38 year old heir that took his place. Because I own a lot of territory none of the A.I. will marry into my faction.

So what do I do throw his sister on him and type .unfreeze. the next turn as this seems like my only option to save the kingdom from being heirless.

How long does it take a king to marry a local aristocrat once he becomes king and is single or what age is it done at.

I think it is a bit dumb that princes will only marry under your actions as I believe historically that if you were royal blood it was mandatory that you were married by a certain age wether you liked it or not, plus the fact of an heir being 35 and has no suitor makes no sense.

Shouldnt there be something in the game that makes them marry by the age of 25 or a way of forcing your heir to marry by a certain age

once you're married .unfreeze. works instantly (or at least will work when you press the End Turn button.) It normally takes only about a year or 2 for your king to decide upon marrying an aristocrat.

As to the princesses, well you can't really have her automatically marrying into a foreign power if you're at war or they don't like you. If you really want to do something with them, just marry them off to some general.

Yeah i agree with Haphazard: it usually takes only a few years for your new king to marry an aristocrat. I wouldnt use cheats though - the game is more fun without them.

I remember when i played English i had a king who ONLY produced daughters (like 7 of them) - it was so frustrating cuz my succession wasnt secure. So i could have faced a Civil War. In the end the last kid that he had was a boy who became the new ruler of English Empire.
