I have had MTW with the 1.1 patch for about a year now (not VI), but I have never had a battle in winter. I know winter campaigns are historically rare, but is there a way to ensure a winter battle? In shogun the winter battles were usually rather more fun than the other seasons.
I think I saw a picture of a winter battle in one of the almohad PBEM campaigns, is this possible/ more frequent with VI?
I think pre-VI you have to have 4+ battles in one turn to get a winter battle (and no winter in the desert). Post-VI it seems you have a small chance for them starting at 2+ battles, but 4+ nearly guarantees it.
