My humble opinions:
1) Avoid playing Takeda, as this clan becomes too strong for human players now. Reasons? For one, cavalry are a lot stronger than before; for two, it's a lot harder to "train" generals than before, but Takeda clan just has too many good generals.
2) Play "late" campaigns as you will get to meet more guns and the AIs have more advanced infrastucture. In another word, greater challenge, more fun.
3) Just as the original STW, western clans are still much more interesting to play than eastern ones. Why? With faster building speed, it's possible to get good koku from the poor soil (traiding post + port + church). However, AIs won't go that crazy to boost up economy. The result? If you play western clans, you will have a booming economy, and your opponents will be resonablly strong; if you play eastern clans, you will have a booming economy, but your opponents will be too weak.
4) "resurrent" vanished clan by shinobi actions. As it'll make the game more interesting. Nothing more boring than facing a bunch of bandits at the end of the game.
Pain is weakness leaving the body.
And if you want a laugh: Create a Kensi army (7 or 8 of em) all with full armour and weapons. Then send them out to clean up any seiges etc.
