I am trying to Edit the Swiss into Vikings and am Partway thru.
1. How do I add a building from Vikingbuildprod into CrusaderProd? (specifically Pagan Shrines)
2. How do I change The Faction name from Swiss to Vikings?
3. How do I change the last three shields? I have alredy changed the first two and when I tried to change the last three the game CTD.
4. I also can't get the description to work. I am using Early Era. I have copied the turks description in /loc/eng/startpos and changed the Turkish to Swiss and wrote my own description. It did not show up though.
I not trying to make a mod or anything but just fooling on my own. I've already got it as Pagan Clture and religion, a few new units, a few provinces, a couple heroes and the Viking Portraits. After I get these questions answers I'll be ready to play. Thanks.

first, have you got the gnome editor? download it frrom here, you'll need it.

first open up the viking_build_prod13.txt file in notepad. find the pagan shrine entry and select it all, then copy it.
now open up crucader_build_prod13.txt in notepad and paste the information for the pagan shrine into the bottom of the file.
save it
now open up the same file again, this time using the gnome editor. edit the stats of the building to yuor satisfaction

some things DO need to be done though.
column 7 building conditions - set any building conditions you want (i.e what buildings have to present first) but delete any reference to viking buildings.
delete completely the AI building preferences column 11, i recommend you replace it with those of the church from further up the file, but you can leave it blank.
column 15 religion - enter PAGAN if not already present.
column 20 faction association enter FN_SWISS.
column22 and 24 - may require your attention - faith and happiness.


2: changing the name, go to loc/eng/names
you'll find several entries along the lines of
"[SWISS]" "{Swiss}"
the first is the game labels - don't change this, the 2nd is the translation which the game displays evertime it uses the word swiss. simply replace every swiss reference in the 2nd set of brackets with viking
3: can't help with the shields, i got the same problem.
4: simply rewriye the swiss description in your own words, keeping within the brackets and ""
