    Armourer
An Armourer increases the quality of armour supplied to all troops trained in a settlement. He is a highly specialist smith who concentrates on producing the armour required by local warriors: shields, scale or ring mail shirts, cuirasses, greaves and helmets. He will have a good supply of metal from local blacksmiths and small-scale foundries, and it is his skill that creates something strong, light, comfortable and capable of deflecting an arrow or sword strike. A good Armourer is prized by any people, and is usually very rewarded for his work. He is usually able to afford a large household of servants, slaves and apprentices.

    Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeekkkkk

    I really dislike this system

I feel we are going to buy units by units again, with a patchwork of all kind of equipments, and it's going to be a mess not even remotly close to a normal army composition. I want to buy/ raise an army or a legion, and a legion is what it is. Not a melting pot of whatever is available.

Louis, that was not what he meant. He meant the old system of free swords but a need for iron to get armour. STW-style.

I don't know, it might be that both types need iron? But I do suspect that all legionaries need an Armourer. They do after all mention the armour of them being mail, and the Armourer also mentions mail.

No, actually I meant the upgrading system

I also rather prefer a armour upgrade without a iron supply than otherwise.

But I would also like to see something new.

    Red face

I'm afraid this is the old "bronze" "silver" "gold" armor upgrade system...

bunch of crap if it is and it will make Multiplay balancing impossible. They should have scrapped the swordsmith/blacksmith armor & weapons upgrade system used in the past versions of Tota War.

I would be happy if like a level 1 armorer gets u lightly armed velites, and a level 2armorer, lorica hamata Hastati troops and level 3 lorica segmentata legionaries... or something like that... but I really hope to not see me getting 3 levels of segmentata (bronze, silver and gold)

why not? Maybe some of it is older, more rusty, the iron is mixed with other metals and so on. Numerous variants.
