some questions from a newbie

Hi everyone this i my third post to the board and i would like to know if i can change the little pictures on the left of the post to somthing other than the picture i have of some arab with mercenary written on top.

BTW there is a way to add a custom avatar. I can't help much more cause I am not sure if you need more posts before you can use it. I think you need about 10, and thenin your control panel you can add your own avatar.
