I NEVER take on the Pope unless absolutely neccesary (ie. 100%) Of course I assassinate him alot but actual war. I don't see the point in attacking him because the lands are useless. I usually surrond him and have to defend occasionally when he attacks but that's nothing. p.s. Don't you find it weird when you can be at war with the papacy but not be excommed?
