now why would i want to shoot for only 'near genius'?

make sure you've patched windows for the 135 open port bug and just temporarily disable the firewall. you shld be fine. after yer done gaming, just turn it back on.

or get one of the more configurable firewalls, like zone alarm, and see if that works. disable the windows firewall and use the other.
