i too defeated the golden horde the old fashioned way...about three hours of playing, and the beating back of perhaps ten successive waves of gh troops (many of my men held out in forested areas in Khazar), after that, they stopped coming. i was too scared to even touch my mouse or scroll the camera, so i just set the speed to 100% and waited for the time to expire, which it did. they went back to mongolia and i thought myself just brilliant (they must be scared of the dark?)
