screen resolution

I want to run MTWVI on my new laptop with a default 1280x800 screen resoltion, but the game does not have this graphic setting, and even if I set my system to run in a resolution compatible with the game, it still won't run proerly, ie stretched horizontally and really slow (I have 512 megs of DDR ram)
