I made a 2nd install of MTW and VI to a new folder c:\Program Files\Napoleonic, then downloaded the mod and all of the other zips and extracted them to that folder. I still don't get the option to play the Napoleonic mod.
The only thing I can think of is that I have to get rid of my other(original) MTW files. Is this the case? Or is there something else to do?
I would have put this post in the appropriate thread, but this is my very first post here...you wouldn't let me.
    I run Win XP.

Greetings Carolus, I am currently running the mod on XP also that should not be a problem, now when you say the mod and all the zips, what version are you actually running? and when you get to the period select screen and scroll down to the last choice what if anyhthing does it say? let me know exactly what you downloaded and I will try and help you out, the only installer problem was with one of the 1,03 add-on updates but that has been fixed. P.S. The auto install will look for the C:\Program Files\Total War folder to extract to

I installed NTW b1.03 and then unzipped NTW_b1 to 1.03 into the folder I created. I have a hunch that somehow I miss-installed the VI program to this new folder (I'm going to check it again). I only get the four original era choices after I've clicked single player/new campaign.
I've seen the picture of how the screen should look at this point.
And thanks ever so much on your response to my problem.
