Thread: MTW map in VI expansion

    Hi guys,

    Been trying to import the MTW map for use as a VI expansion as per the instructions here. I've already been able to successfully make a VI expansion with the Britain map but when I tried using the MTW Europe map and also the Iberian map I downloaded from here it wouldn't work. Apparently the factions are wrong but when I try tweaking the factions especially in the build file it gives me all these error messages complaining about one thing or another. Is there any way to edit the building file other than using wordpad? Like is there a Gnome Building Editor?

    Lets say that one can program an animation of a soldier to do all that is required to get the shots for the game (marching, shooting, etc) - how does one export it into the game how does the game know which animation is for which?

    Do u have the correct map in the texture folder,

    For those mods u talk about they also need you to replace the campaign map........

    Just take the map tex file place it in viking, and your done, I think.....

    Gnome can work the build prod file as well as the unit prod file,

    Gnome sometimes leaves excess gibberish at the end of the file,

    if you are unfamiliar with how to "lose" the gibberish then
    the easiest way is to download the excell production files and do it in excell

    Okay, will try Gnome with the buildings again. It seemed to keep crashing when I tried a Build file. Yeah the files are in the texture folder. I think my main problem was defining the startpos and the other files in the ENG/LOC folder as the factions in MTW and VI are different. I then made the files for the MTW Europe map all VI type (Fac01, 02, etc instead of Almohad, Byzantine, etc) but the map still refuses to show up. Ditto for the Iberian map. What could be wrong? The Iberian map has replacement faction select maps that go in the Frontend_Files folder. Should they be renamed to go into the Textures/Campmap folder?
