similar happenings in my game - I modded some units - most fun battles where when I invaded a region that contained some previously bribed armies of my own.

I had modded the farming+mining income upgrades, and it seems I overdid it. All the factions had plenty of cash to happily send out emissaries who'd bribe rival faction armies left and right. Doesn't seem like trade was important, and everyone was attacking/bribing each other.

I was just hoping to secure the Rebel lands to the east of Poland and slug it out with the Horde when they arrive, but it's getting pretty savage right now. It's only 1135 and the Turks, French, and Aragonese are already gone - and now I have both Hungary and Novgorod pinned into one region each. Spanish, Italian, and Egyptians are serious powerhouses at the moment - I'm tempted to see if I can hang with them before I go back to the drawing board on my custom mod.

Do like me : mod your uber-units so that they can only fit your nationality... My campaign with french Jedi was easy & fun. Look : those units(12 men in 1 unit) can't be seen, have 99 exploding throwing stars as powerful as a serpentine bullet, and have 24 attack/defence. Only weakness is to ranged weapons.

Of course, facing those guys would have been difficult...

I have been lurking here for a while, and finally got around to registering/posting. The Org has been a great site for me to learn about strategy/modding/gameplay. Reading about how other players use the various factions has lead me to try out a lot of their ideas, and has added to my own enjoyment of this great game.

I made an ultra crazy powerful knight mod, one man in the unit, incredibly high attack/defense, with a large charge bonus. Made him incredilby expensive, then I have him to French and I was playing the Germans, the results were goofy. They had two or three of him and I had to use a full 16 stack army to kill him everytime he invaded one of my provinces.
He could just cruise through a battle field, kind of like the opening seen of LOTR Fellowship of the Ring, when Saruman is just tossing elves and men around. It was fun but it knocked the game so off balance that I could never get ahead since I would lose whole armies to one unit.
