    Question

I installed medmod 3.12 onto a fresh VI (First installing the gfx pack, then the texts). All went fine until my first battles. I launched a mass invasion of French territories, but after the first battle completes, clicking to "save" before the second begins crashes me to desktop.

Secondly, I'm loving the mod, except it lets me build "useless" buildings in places where I can't seem to build the units that come with them. Forgive me if I'm missing something really obvious, but where can I find a list of "what I can and can't build" for each province on the map? Or is it possible to just turn off this feature altogether, so I don't have to put up a chart on my wall or soemthing

It's crashed twice for me in the last 2 days..Both times right after I hit escape to save it, after big battles, very annoying.

You can only build your factions troops in your factions homelands. You just have to learn what the 10 or so provinces are.
Thats not a strict rule, as some units are shared between factions so they can be built in territories outside of your homelands and some can only be built in a few provinces within your homeland.
I had to read the unit_prod file and make spreadsheets for each faction as I encounter them in my Spanish campaign. Its amazing to take a Castle with a Spearmakers Guild, Swordsmith Workshop and Bowyers Workshop and it can't build anything more than Spearmen now or forever more. Look at it as free money, I destroy the buildings in non-homeland provinces as they can never benefit me, but could somebody else.

The Charts and Readmes file for the mod is in the Medieval - Total War directory that you installed the mod to. There is an Excel spreadsheet with all the faction homelands listed and the names of the new units and the renamed units so you can look them up in the unit_prod file. There are Word files in there too that explain the changes and show the projectile stats. Read them, its all completely different.

    No crashes so far

I had this happen to me a few times several weeks ago, but I attributed it to a general instability in my entire system that had been creeping in. I usually just use the quicksave feature, which has never given me any trouble, though the last few times I have used the Esc key to save, everything has gone fine.
I don't recall ever having had a problem using the quicksave between battles, either, though I noticed what seems to be a new bug with the patch, in that loading a save resets diplomatic actions so that they don't occur until one turn later.

I haven't had any issues with hitting the Esc key to save, but if that is the problem just use [CONTROL]+[S] to quicksave and [CONTROL]+[L] to load the quicksave. Hope that helps
