    Unhappy

    Hi guys,
Can any of you tell me how I can get better frame rates during battles. I've played race and flight sims but never experienced anything like this. I'm running a 733 P3, 64mb GeForce card with the latest driver and I've loaded DirectX 9.0 when I upgraded to Viking Invasion. Not the latest stuff but it does the job with much heavier games.

I've played around with the video and performance controls in the game but can only make things worse.

    Any tweaks I can do?

Here's a common tip that works for most people. In Windows go to control panel->sound and audio devices. Somewhere amongst the tabs (I think it might vary depending on soundcard and Windows version) will be an option called hardware acceleration, turn this off. On my pc it is under audio->sound playback->advanced. This fixed all of my MTW related framerate issues.

I'll try that one myself... battles do sometimes get really jerky when big armies are around.

Thank you froggy, that solved all my problems. Now I can fight without having to resort to pause to issue commands.

froggy is again full of wisdom - another signature worthy quote to add to my growing collection I can't take credit for this tip as I found it on these forums back when MTW first came out, I can't remember who posted it. I have seen it recommended many times, particularly in the apothecary. I'm glad it solved everybody's problems
