    Dear all,
    Finally I got permission to post article here... thanks to TosaInu.
    Well, this might be a simple question, but it's bothered me for a long time. Due to agent's discontinued support, VI no longer support Chinese version. Many of Chinese players have to play in English environment. It really discourage Chinese players.
    Is there any gentleman here could kindly instruct me on how to mod the VI, so we Chinese players could mod our own Chinese version VI. I do believe this will jump the VI population in Chinese..

    Your Eastern Friend,
    GenghisKhan(now Servius Tullius in VI) from Taiwan Cavaliers

    Hi,

    There are several things you will have to write down in Chinese in the \LOC\ENG folder plus you will have to make a number of files for the Chinese font set.

    You can contact Hellenes he is making a Greek localization of MTW so he will probably be able to give the best help.

    ===============

    As a side note LeBob has started a Three Kingdoms mod that you and the Taiwan Cavaliers would probably be interested in.

    Thanks Komninos
    I will try to contact Hellenes and talk to him about how I could make Chinese version.
    BTW, I realize Lebob is modding the Three Kindom, as matter of fact, Taiwan Cavaliers are doing similar mod just in different era. As the progress goes, we've done some unit creation and Lebob's strategic map is really great, maybe we will have further discussion.

    Thank you again Komninos
    BTW, Would it be a good topic to discuss here? modding your own language version of Total War. This action will help promoting the sales of the Total War I really hope that Active Vision could have a better modding instruction book, when the rome is out. It gives lots fun modding this great game.

    Sincerely,

    TW_ServiusTullius

    instructions, tips and advice most welcome too,
    that way we can keep a copy of the instructions etc in the repository so next time someone wants to try his hand at it they can read the guide,

    TW_GenghisKhan,

    Just for the argument why not cooparate with LeBob in some stuff ... it will help both of you.

    BTW ... I know that map looks good I might try it again with the great river as sea region some time in the future.
    =========================================
    On the subject now ... though I am not the man for it.

    1. You could try your local bublefish service for a fast job but reread the out put some times it gets really weird
    PS ... for the Greek try the site of OTEnet ... they have a systran service there.

    2. Be very careful with the extra characters I am not sure that the TGAs provided follow the TTF indexing punctuation signs might get mixed up.

    3. Welly I hope you got my mail. There is definitely a need for a tool that would take the TTF as input and output the TGAs needed. this might be useful for other mods too. (i.e. I would like to have Ancient Greek stile letters in HTW while NTW some nice script type text)

    Thanks for all of your passion and patiance. Since I am quite alone working on this communication job, I think it would be better for me to stick on modding skill first.
    I left a reply on LeBob's thread, and I think we chinese modders will start from there-modding the "Romance of threee Kindoms". Hopefully at the end of middle of somewhere we could have more manpower to work on the language translation stuff.
    But I will keep my eyes on this thread so maybe in case anything I could help, I will be glad to do my share as loyal Total War fan.
