Thread: question to modders and others

AFAIK, the game defines 5 types of resources (salt, copper, silver, gold, iron). Is it possible to add other resources (so other than these 5, not adding resources in a province)?
I know it can be done quite easy with trade goods (copying them from VI and edit the icons etc...).
If it is possible to add resources, is there a limit on how many reources one can define. Because I can think off many other resources (relics, imported iron, imported copper,...).

I ask this because I am planning a mod, where only certain provinces could build the town watch buildings (those will have the 'city resource' available), while other provinces have a 'baronial lineage resource' available. These are suited for building the royal estates, baronial courts,...
Provinces without any off these resources will still be able to build troops, because the town watch is no longer a prerequisite for bowyer and spearmaker.

I came to this idea when I saw wesmod 3.14 (with the mercenary trade good) and by reading Re Berengario's post.

    Any help???

    DAMN

There goes my idea. Is there no other way to restrict buildings to certain provinces? I know in the crusader_buildings file, there is no column that describes the provinces in which it may be build. (as opposed to the unit_prod file)
