I came accross this article in PC.IGN.Com about an upcoming game: Knights of Honor. And it looks like a Totalwar clone. Here are some exerpts:

The game is played on a map of Europe divided into over 150 zones called realms. Each realm can hold a castle or a town and can be further blessed with the construction of a harbor.

Harbors are useful for a couple of purposes, for instance. They're immediately good for sending your troops to conquer distant lands. Over time though, you'll also begin to benefit from the trade your harbors bring in.

Though the main game is played through a large view, you'll transition to a close-in tactical view for the battles. Here you can lead your forces into combat using a variety of formation controls. In terms of units, you'll be able to field up to 25 different types of units, ranging from general swordsmen and archers to specialists like the Tuetonic Champion or English Longbowman.

To make things even more interesting, Black Sea Studios is including a day and night model in the game.

Like a few other recent 4X games, Knights of Honor will require players to delegate certain responsibilities to their subordinates, in this case, knights. The game will contain at hundreds of individual knights each with their own personalities and abilities. Each realm requires a knight's supervision and managing them involves placing them where they'll do the most good.(Each knight comes with three of a possible 25 total abilities.)

A full range of diplomatic options will be available to the player and you'll need to manage your relations carefully if you want to succeed. In addition to setting the overall attitude of your negotiations, you can also dispatch assassins to take out enemy leaders, marry your daughters off to allies and even set specific conditions for peace.

Its the first game I've heard that sounds so familiar, you would wonder where they got their ideas from.

Does sound remarkably similar, but more like a poor cousin than a clone.
