Ok, well I was just wondering how to get the trader virtue for my kings. I mean, I've done plenty of trading. Do I have to build a certain amount of merchants/guild/masters or something?

Anyway, let this be a thread to discuss any weird vices/virtues and/or how to get them. (Anyone ever have a 'specialist siege defender? I got one once on a hero but I was wondering how to get it)

I've never gotten trader, only magnificent steward and magnificent builder...over and over again. I don't think I've ever seen either of the siege ones.

I have however, seen Brigand and thief all the time. Usually on my best commanders.

I think the Italin king starts with Tradervirtue at start of campaign - seems to be a random thing cause I have only ever got it once or twice I think.

never seen brigand or thief - what do I have to do to get that and what effects do they have?

I've got trader once as the Danes but I have no idea how.

Brigand or thief are among those income reducing vices you get after you've conquered a certain amount of the world.

Several V&V can only appear on heroes.
We are all aware that the senses can be deceived, the eyes fooled. But how can we be sure our senses are not being deceived at any particular time, or even all the time? Might I just be a brain in a tank somewhere, tricked all my life into believing in the events of this world by some insane computer? And does my life gain or lose meaning based on my reaction to such solipsism?

I once got trader virtue as the Turks - young sultan about 19 when he ascended, then a few years before dying he got the trader virtue. This was in the early game and in the forty odd years I had built up trading posts in all provs of Turkey and conquered Egypt/ Byz provs and then upgraded them as well. So unlike steward - if you build 6-8 20% improvements you get the steward virtue, the trader is a lot tougher to get I reckon.

I have seen the skilled seige defender once in a random 2* general with the English in a late game, I dont remember the name but at 2* he wouldnt be much of a hero would he? In the same game I also got a skilled seiger virtue (0*) general which was very useful.

siege defender can be an easy one to get. Its being in that type of situation that is the hard one. Just recently I had a general get the skilled castle assaulter but he had gotten from training and not from assaulting a castle. It does seem tho that maybe the patch changed the vices and virtues a bit to make some appear a little more often. The V/V I hate is good runner, it seems to hurt the A.I. more than the player as once the king gets it all you have to do is follow him around to tear up his armies and the V/V progresses to coward

Oaty, I wasn't talking about Skilled assault defender, but skilled siege defender. If you were referring to the skilled siege defender than how do you get it?

I’ve had a drinking vice before, but I think it might interesting to have a skilled drinker category. Whether that is a vice or a virtue....
