Allright, the manual mentions that priests are better then emissaries when dealing with Christian daimyos, cause the other Daimyo isn't likely to hurt a churchman.

This seems to imply that it is in fact possible to deal with a particularly insult treaty request by sending the head of the agent back to his daimyo in a duffel bag. However, I could never figure out how to do this.

Is it possible to do that? Not just say no, but to send a message back to the other faction in the form of a detached head? If so, how?

I think that every time you refuse a treaty, you are in fact sending back the other Daimyo's emissary head.

.....but i might be mistaken, it's been a while since i played shogun (never really noticed if the emissary disapeared from the campaign map after that)...

Don't think it is possible for the player, however the AI daimyos do this to your emissaries and you get a proper scene in your throne room.
