    I can't post this in the dungeon, because of junior patron status, but I am hoping I can get some kind of help here, even though medmod 1.85 is old, but, obviously, I don't have VI. I installed medmod v1.85 a while ago, uninstalled MTW, re-installed and then reinstalled medmod v1.85 as well. The problem is that I backed up my old saves and when I loaded them the buildings couldn't enable the building of the same units as in medmod, even though I already had Hospitaller Foot Knights built, I couldn't build them, however the build times for forts, keeps, etc. were reduced, as medmod does. So I started a new game, and I am not sure if the units' requirements were ever different, but when I reached the master swordsmith (or guild, forget which), the Hospitaller Foot Knights were not listed as units it could build. The old and new campaigns were both started in the early period as the English. However, when I started in the late period, I found that the master spearmaker listed lancers under it (those were also missing from the games before). But the units work in custom battle mode, so I am at a loss.

    MedMod seriously alters the units that you can build.

    not all units can be built in the provinces where they were before, a lot more are province specific, so if you want the unit, you`ll have to conquer and control that province.

    it does make the game much more interesting

    that`s why i use it myself.

    No, I built Hospitaller Foot Knights before I uninstalled the first time, reloaded that save game, and couldn't build them in the same province or any province at all, because medmod allows crusade units to be built.

    Also, if anyone reading this post wouldn't mind or be troubled by putting my first two posts in the dungeon, i would be very thankful.

    ahhh..... there you have me.

    i`m not 100% sure that saved games would work correctly in the circumstances you described, not to worry, someone smarter will be along in a while.
