Thread: Who governs a territory?  Highest acumen?

Well first of all, is the amount of florins a territory produces affected by the acumen of a unit in that territory?

If so, how does the territory determine which unit's acumen to use for affecting the florin production? The unit with the highest acumen? Or the one with the title such as... Duke of Normandy?

What happens if there is a unit in Normandy with 10 acumen along with another unit in Normandy with 7 acumen but the title Duke of Normandy? Does the title override the amount of acumen?

What if there are no units? Does the territory produce no florins or does it still produce florins without the bonus of units with acumen.

As always, thanks for any responses.

No. Only by the Governor's accumen of that province. The King's accumen will effects all provinces under his rule. So if a province has a Governor, it will receive bonus from both: the King and the Gorvernor. If the province has no Governor, it will only receive bonus from the King. IIRC, each feather is equivalent to 10%.

When you give a Governor title (like Duke of Normandy) to a unit, it will be the unit which effects the florin output of the province it govern. The Governor doesn't have to be in his province to give the bonus.

I'm not sure about this part: the bonus will be reduce if the Governor is not in his home (titled) province. I also think that if he is cut off from his home province (like being blockaded or surrounded by others), the province will lose all bonus from him.

Province will produce some florin initially. Upgrades and Governor bonus are to boost the florin output.

    Edit:

Any title, besides Governor, that gives extra accumen should be given to a Governor to boost up his accumen.

These stats that appear when you click on any unit are the stats for the general in command of it.

Only the general with the provincial title will influence the income of a province. Other troops stationed there won't influence directly your income. They can influence directly because they raise loyalty, and the bigger the loyalty, the more you can tax the population. But the acumen stat for any general stationed there won't influence anything if they are not in possess of the provincial title.

Your king's acumen stat also influences each one of the provinces you own.

I don't believe a local ruler's acumen effect upon his holding is ever influenced by his whereabouts or any line of communications.

When I said ...They can influence directly because they raise loyalty, I meant They can influence indirectly because they raise loyalty

    Sorry for the typo...

I asked this question, and one of the programmers (GilJay maybe) came in and said that they originally intended to have the province penalized if the Guv was not at home, but dropped it to simplify gameplay.
