I'm buildibg new units for HTW from scratch using rendered animations. The problem:
I have the sequences ready in 12 frames bmps to launch over the final bif. Usualy I get a previous bif from other unit as a base. When the new image enter in this bif, there are a conflit in color paletes, and the beautifull new unit becomes a bit distorced. I tried all in order to preserve original colors. The unit bifs have in the bottom of the palete two rows,green/purple we must mantain. The CA tools cant help here. Or am I wrong? Do we have allways to pic a MTW bif to build new ones? Help....

Most of the time I look for existing MTW BIFs with the right palette that doesn't cause that much change in colours.

Usually it works, but if you're not satisfied with this, you can edit the palette. Just don't change the greens and purples and the first green colour (the background colour). Then save the palette and apply it to all images. Now you can make a BIF with the colours you want.

My method of making units always starts with images with unlimited colours. Then I choose the right palette and apply it to all. I use the DOS command line to make a BIF from the 12 frames. I never use an existing BIF.

I hope this has helped a bit.

    Cheers, Duke John
