Konnichiwa,

New smileys have been installed, about 250. These are a set and somewhat match. 50 of them are clickable right now, I have DSL and it doesn't slow down much on me. Please, tell if it lags for you and I'll remove a few from the list here.

All smileys, including the old, are available. Below the compile message window are links for Help Cards. Emoticons is the one you need. There's about 400 kb of smileys there at the moment, so it may take some time to load (I'll look into that soon: try to make 2 or more helpcards). So they are not on the list but can be used in your posts.

The old smileys still have their old code, but with a ~ in front of it (to distinct them from the new ones and to solve the problem of unintended smileys popping up). So

I like a lot of the new ones: , but others just seem to be repeats of the old ones. Maybe put some of the old ones back on the side bar especially and bring back some of the old ones that are repeated in the new set for old times sake ~ , sort of a mix of old and new.

I think there are too much clickable smilies and the most usefull ones like or are missing from them. Also the coloured angry and pissed ones were better. Since you have to type them now, they won´t be used in 99% of all cases.
Don´t get me wrong, it´s good to have a lot of smilies in the help card, but the old ones should be clickable again.

I agree with A.Saturnus. There are too many of them and they all look alike. With the old ones it was easier to see what it represented, however these are now difficult to enter. A number of the new smilies doesn't seem to have a use ( ), while some of the old useful ones have dissappeared

No problem at all here. The clickable is for most frequently used ones, so your chocice matters.

Please post your most favourite smilies here (a post allows up to 20, so that's the max per person), starting with the most favourite. The most favourite smilies (and runner ups) will go into clickable then.

It's also possible to rotate some. I put the ~ in front of the old codes as that was required to distinguish them from new ones, but also because some smilies pop up in a post when you don't want them (happens to me at times). The ~ seems to be a pain with some keyboards though, suggestions? * : | - or something else?

Are you experiencing slower load times now? If so, the number of clickable may have to be reduced as well.

The emoticon help card takes over 30 seconds to load, and I have got an ASDL-connexion. If I want to pick one from underin the list, I have to wait that time because I cannot scroll without losing track of were I was: the list keeps bopping up and down.
The old smilies had different colours, you could recognize them easily. The new smilies are all yellow, and are packed so close seeing the difference becomes even more difficult.

Changed a couple of things:

-added some favourites to the card.
-because of the above and by replacing some new by old equivalents, a couple of the old smilies are back on the card.
-old smilies preceded the new ones in the internal config file, thus old smilies will load first on the helpcard.

Total number of smilies on card is still 50.

Any feedback is still welcome. I understood that ~ was a difficult key on some keyboards? Suggestions?

I think its easier to copy and paste the smilie code which I am sure most do, this would eliminate errors for the most part, Be sure to give proper space between or it will not translate ...LOS

The table inserts the smily at the end of a post + 1 space, regardless of where the cursor is.

Please check the Emoticons helpcard at the bottom of each compile post screen. A new window will pop-up and list all emoticons installed on the forums. The geisha ones are at the bottom.

There are too many to make all clickable.
