Santa lives in Finland. Unfair as it seems, it's the truth.

I have it from a good source that Santa lives in New York City.

    In fact,
    the "commercial" Santa lives in
North Pole (are you sure it's not in south
    pole !!!???) or in NYC,

BUT, the REAL Santa, as Anssi has said, lives in Rovaniemi, Finland.

    Merry Christmas to everybody !

and may i suggest that Santa Claus found its origin in a dutch costum Sinterklaas brought to America from the Netherlands centuries ago. Sinterklaas is a similar party but at 5 december instead at christmas.

And Santa's present appearance (the red coat etc.) is actually based on a Coca Cola ad, which, in turn, was designed by a man born in Finland.

Peace be with your sword, Draksen (this is yet another really obscure reference).

Ok, ok, I'll admit it - I work for Santa Claus. He has an agent or two in every community to keep an eye on things. I'd like to bring you a news update from the old man himself. First of all, you're all getting samurai armor (except for Magyar, he's getting Mongol armor and a horse, although I still don't know how he's going to get it down the chimney). Also, he has decided that sending him letters is inefficient, so you will now have to e-mail him at santa@northpole.com if you need to contact him personally. To order a present, e-mail orders@santa.com, and for technical support contact support@santa.com . Thank you and have a nice day. Anyone who orders will be entered into a raffle to win an early release of Total War 2 for Chrismas.

    Here's the real story:

The myth of Santa began over 1700 years ago in the town of Myra in present-day Turkey. Bishop Nicholas wished to help adults and children in need, and he did this by secretly giving them money and gifts. Eventually people found out who it was that was helping them, and they began to call the bishop "Saint Nicholas". The myth of Nicholas became known throughout the world, and he was given many different names. In North America, Saint Nicholas turned into Santa Claus, and books were written about him. Among other things it was said that Santa lived "far north of human habitation in a land of perpetual winter, where his only neighbors are the polar bear and the black walrus." This is Greenland, of course!

    Hmmmm
    So Santa lives...
"far north of human habitation in a land of perpetual winter, where his only neighbors are the polar bear and the black walrus."

You obviously haven't been down my local pub on a saturday night, we have more than our fair share of walrus women, I just thank god that none of them are bear.
