The above message suggests that, in some situation, you will need to re-train your unit, when would I required to do so?

Have this got anything to do with merging two different units together?

If not, is there any other method to combain many different units in the same area, whihout drag and drop repeatively? IS there any way where it would "auto- re-fill" your units when new units of the same type is mearged?

Any unit that is below max capacity can be put in the Troop Production queue by dragging it into an empty space in the queue provided that the province where the unit is located has the capability to produce that unit. The cost of said "retraining" will be shown also. Unfortunately the tedious task of mixing your army is done only by drag-n-drop. Hope this helps.
