    Here I am...in these last few days...minding my own business...happily typing www.totalwar.org to go to the forums....and what happens??? This add to Everquest comes up No biggie there. But when I close it, all i get from the ORG page is the add/link on top of the page

    I've tried closing it;
    Closing it and refreshing the page;
    and simply waiting out for it to disappear

    The result is always the same ...if it weren't for some links I kept on some mail messages, I wouldn't be able to come here

    Is anybody else having this problem?

    Ehhh, NO, luckily I am not having this problem. On the other hand I may have a sort of a solution for you...

    Install Norton Internet Security as it kills 99% of ads and hence will probably make your experience on the web MUCH better (not to mention safer). LOL

    You are certainly not the only with this problem as you can see on this thread.
    The Org homepage (kind of) down?

    I'm using Norton Internet Security at home and never have problems loading the front page there. I don't have it at work which makes the front page so hopelessly frustrating that my bookmark at work leads right to the forums, skipping the front page.

    Norton Internet Security will cost you, but you can get almost as good results against pop-ups using the free Pop-Up Stopper.

    I find it best and easier to just bookmark the Forum and bypass the frontpage altogether, no hassles...LOS

    I have had it a few times, but when I closed the add and refreshed the page, the page was loaded correctly. I did notice that the page seems to stop loading if I close the add (the avatar icons on the messages didn't appear after I closed the add). I've got a reasonably fast internetconnection, so this might be why it isn't much of a problem for me: by the time the add starts, most of the page is already loaded.

    Anyway, I usually enter the forum through http://www.totalwar.org/cgi-bin/forum/ikonboard.cgi
    so perhaps you should try that too.
