Hey all. I'm playing Mori and I'm made it east to Shinano, and there are monstrous armies gathered on the Shinano - Mino line. They attack (Hojo), and I waste them in Mino. This has happened once a turn for three turns, not a problem.
On the fourth defense though, I don't see the trusty WMs and HCav units that have won the rest of the battles at the bottom of the screen, but the Ashigaru and Spearmen stragglers that are also in the province. What's worse is that my best general is with them, the one that was grouped with my best men of course... My question is, why the heck did they come out to play? And where are my WMs and HCs?
Basically, what decides which of you're forces make the defense?? Thanks in advance!

If you have the expansion, you can switch units in or out at will in the deploy phase of the battle.

Maybe your previous general was killed. Your highest ranked general always gets the go. Maybe this is what happenned?

Actually it was my best general who showed to the battle. Sorry for the confusion. I have yet to try that swapping thing but I will tonight, thanks again for the tip!

How do you swap units in a battle?

If it can only be done if you show up with more than 16 units... then thats why I dont know how, because I have yet to fight a battle with that many units.

Swap unit option only appear if you have more than 16 units join a battle (defend or attack). The icon is at the top right of the screen and has a curved arrow point to it.

About the general who lead the force, the higher rank will lead the force. However, if you have two generals with the same rank, I really don't know which one gonna lead the force.
