    I would like to give the Papacy (When I play them) a few more starting units and some more buiding upgrades.

    How do I do this?

    Oh ya I would also like to have me be able to go on crusades.

    Thank You.

    In the campmap\startpos folder there are the era files. Choose the era to edit (early.txt for example), then look towards the end of the document. For buildings, find this:

    //============================================================================
    // Adding ANY building MUST be done after the regions ATTRIBUTES have been set.
    //============================================================================

    Add the provinces you want to improve to the list:

    MakeBuilding:: ID_PAPAL_STATES Castle5

    For units, a little further down on the page you find:

    //========================================
    //Create Unit
    //Create a unit in a specified region
    //The Faction that controls that region
    //then controls the army.
    //========================================
    //region, unit type, number of men, number of kills

    So you could add (for example)

    MakeUnit:: ID_PAPAL_STATES ByzantineInfantry 100

    As for crusading, (I think that) you can change the CRUSADER_BUILD_PROD13.TXT file, chapter house entry. Use the Gnome editor, and look for line 31. Add your faction (FN_PAPIST) to the list of allowed chapter house builders. Ive never actually done this, but it looks resonable.

    not positive, havn't checked, but i think a crusade is also a unit, i.e. the crusade you train from the chapter house, taking 4yrs.
    in which case you also have to look in the unit prod file and add FN_PAPACY to the crusade unit.

    you also might want to add FN_PAPACY to order foot soldiers and fanatics, to give you some crusade units, and maybe pick an order of knighthood?

    the black prince, crusade is a unit but it's not restricted to any factions so that's unnecessary.

    BTW, have you wondered how you pay yourself to crusade?
    Hmmm interesting. BTW, anyone get money as papists while playing as them from crusades?
