So I appointed a 4 accumen general as governor of Constantine, and the next year a General of a Chivalric Knight unit was created with 6 accumen and smacking of loyalty. So I want to appoint him as governor of my wealthiest province.

I know emisaries do this, but my question is what are the reprecussions of stripping someone of their title. The current governor is a good General (6stars) and very loyal. He is leading my largest army in it's treck across Lower russia. Can I swap the province w/o impacting his other traits?

    Thanks

The art of war is simple enough. Find out where your enemy is. Get at him as soon as you can. Strike him as hard as you can, and keep moving.

Yes V&Vs shouldnt be effected by governor swaps, but IIRC Constantinople has +2/+3 loyalty so the existing governor may have quite a drop - but if he is good just make him governor of some other place

He will have a loyalty drop, I'm afraid. No way around it. however, if you're lucky, he won't get a bad vice from it. Or a secret one.

With enough influence, there shouldn't be much of a problem. If you avoid any large governor changes when you get a new king, instead waiting until influence is up around 6 or higher, then it should be okay. Of course, if you've got a daughter to marry him into the family, that's a sure bet to get him to like you as well. But I think loyalty is the main thing affected by stripping a general of his titles.

Just remember, after you strip the title, your 6 star general will only be a 4 star general, since 2 of those command points are granted by the title of governor of Constantinople.

I dunno, I figure I'll just tell him I think Constantinople is going "in a different direction", and then remind him that I'm his soverign lord and if he has a problem with it I'll tip my hand and send him to command a rabble of peasants protecting Wallachia from the Horde
