So I can't place the rally flag in battle mode. It was working fine last time I played it, as I used it all the time to make sure my reserves kept up. Recently the button will make the clicking sound, and you can see it depress, but when I remove the cursor the button comes up and I can't place the flag.

    Ideas?

    Thanks

The art of war is simple enough. Find out where your enemy is. Get at him as soon as you can. Strike him as hard as you can, and keep moving.

It could be you are trying to place the flag in a restricted area. The flag can not be placed anywhere, some areas are off limit. Also, you must click on the troop to be brought in first( one click per group on the button to the left of the rally point button) before you select the rallying point. You will see the troop type added to your list of troops on the top of your battle screen (but that unit is not available for commands yet as they are 'not on the field yet')

A slightly different problem I notice is that troops seem to come in from different points sometimes making it difficult to decide where to have them rally as they may pass through enemy territory on their way to the rallying point you have selected for them. Often the troops come from near the back of the battle area, but not always.

Seen a similar thing recently. I found re-clicking the place rally flag button often works. Your actual mouse cursor changes when the placement is active, and the button depresses. On my system, this does not always seem to "take" with one press, even though I hear the ka-chunk noise.
