I have a suggestion, You might have downloaded Viking Invasion without uninstalling MTW. Or, you might have put Viking Invasion not into the Medieval total war file. Try to reinstall MTW then VI and put VI into the Medieval totalwar file, you will get a warning if you dont. This happened to me before and I couldnt use multiplayer, so give it a try.
