You can find high command generals by having them sort the generals by command stars.

You can find high income provinces by sorting your provinces by income.

But if I want to find that perfect 9 star governor for Antioch, I am having to go through every single province. And even then it doesn't work and (if Turkish), I have to make him undergo the indignity of becoming a eunuch

Anyways, just a grumble, but it'd be nice if you could see unassigned soldiers and their acumen, and a list of governors.

The governor you choose can give your province a +90 percent bonus (more if he has good virtues like steward/trade, etc). I wish I could find the right guy easier.

Usually, if you set auto-assign titles, etc. to on, the computer will automatically grant provincial governonships to the most worthy of your non-royal generals.

But, yes, it would be nice to have a parchment option listing all your current general ranked according to acumen or dread or whatnot.

Respectfully, the auto-assign title option is the worse one possible and is a bad recommendation; for a long time I've been taking refuge to this one and not paying enough attention to the generals the AI was assigning as governors, and I had to learn the hard way that the AI is doing a very poor job with this task.

I have to agree with voigtkampf.
I've always assigned titles myself, but recently switched to 'auto-assign titles' in order to concentrate on battles and speed up my campaign. But i soon changed it back when I found that I had a governor that I wouldn't even put in charge of Friesland looking after Venice.

Yup, auto assinging titles is the worst thing you can do, better assign the titles yourself, and if you don't have reasonable acumen candidates, leave the provinces without a governor.

I always assign the governorships myself. I also have a rule I normally adhere to: I don't assign a governorship to any general with less than a 4 in acumen.

The only exception I make to this is those abysmally low income provinces like Sinai, where I want at least 4 dread to keep loyalty up.
