The Snes. It had a major advantage though, in that it came out before I got a PC.

The best are probably the playstion series. It just has the most games. The one I prefer are the nintendo consoles, but that is more of a nostalgia thing. I owned all of them except the first (oh I cried and cried but my parents didn't give in, still can't forgive them).

It's gotta be the snes, it just kicked ass

Oh the nes was good, and duckhunt is still a classic, but the snes had all the mario you could ever want (mario cart was a classic) and such titles as super bomberman, super smash TV, killer instinct, the street fighter series', street racer (the plastation conversion was just appaling), Zelda, mystic quest leged and sooooooooooo many more.

It beat the megadrive with diversity of games, and that it didn't break after 5 years of regular use, it beat the gameboy hands down, it beat the saturn without a doubyt and what games were converted to playstation were cuky by comparison. The snes was just fabulous

As a retro gamer It wins all out, more of my study time ws wasted on the snes than any other console could manage, even AFTER I got a playstatio and my brother got an N64 (which was good, but had no-where near enough good games).

I loved my snes. I miss my snes. I had to trade it in when I was seriously short of cash.
I was trying to find some help in the ancient military journals of General Tacticus, who's intelligent campaigning had been so successful that he'd lent his very name to the detailed prosecution of martial endeavour, and had actually found a section headed "What To Do If One Army Occupies A Well-Fortified And Superior Ground And The Other Does Not", but since the first sentence read "Endeavour to be the one inside" I'd rather lost heart.

I never even owned an SNES but I've played them many times. It beats all You can't beat Mario Cart, all the other Mario games, and a lot of the other games on it. It's just an awesome system. The only thing i like about my GBA is that it uses a lot of SNES game ports.

I just have to say that the PS2 Game Console System is the best. The graphics are not as good as XBOX, but not that much worse. The system is just so very well rounded that when I had the choice a year ago that I choose it over the XBOX. The fact that from the Get-Go one can play DVDs, music, games, and other fun stuff is great. The other fact that there are more games on PS2 than on any other system is another bonus. The PS2 IS the best Game Console in the world...it is as simple as that...

I think some people are missing my point when i started this poll, im not asking which is the most succesful but instead which is your favourite. Its all to do with nostalgia, which one do you miss/love the most?

The PC is by far the best...i mean you can even emulate all the consoles on a PC.

But I voted for SNES because I don't consider a PC as a console...it isn't specifically designed to play games on.

The SNES is an amazingly fun piece of machinery. Everything about it was perfect. I still play the darned thing, through PC emulation of course.

I loved my NES as it was my first console, i had the original Star Wars game which was quite hard if my memory serves my right. I also had the original Micro Machines which was so much fun. I got really angry when i was forced to sell it so i could get a SNES (my mum wouldn't allow me to have two consoles

The SNES was cool though, it had many great games on it as well. Although i couldn't stand Mario Kart - i swear the computer karts cheated and were much faster than mine

Also loved the Dreamcast - hope sega continue the Shenmue series on a new console.

I love my PS2. The reason that I didnt choose PC, even though it is the best, I just couldnt use it (it was too bad) back when I was really playing games. That is why PS2 is my favorite.

I agree, the PC isn't a games console. Yes, it runs games, but it isn;t designed solely for that purpose. Then again, by the same dint of logic the Xbox is just the console part of a PC, and I hate the Xbox. I like that there is a very big divide between console and computer, and my PS2 is a console, PC is a computer, thats why I never bothered with all the online stuff for consoles. If I wanted to play online games theres almost always a PC equivilant.

I agree you can't class the PC as a console. But then I suppose I can't vote for the Amiga 500 either (but seriously did anyone ever use their Amiga for anything other than games?). I lost years of my life to that wedge of off white plastic. Such good years

Hmmm, I'm sure I've still got it somewhere. Might rummage through the loft for it tonight

Otherwise has to be the Playstation. Real nostalgic memories of playing Final Fantasy VII.

As a gaming system the pc is superior, but I have consoles for different kind of fun (hugs gamecube). All nice, simple games that are as addictive as crack. And most important, they actually work No buggy crap on a nintendo system no sir. Nintendo is genius, everything they touch turns into gold. You will not find 'oldschool' games like Viewtifull Joe or Waverace on a pc. It also works the other way around, no complex strategy games like medieval:total war. I get the best from both worlds, and enjoy them equaly.

I've only owned a Gameboy and a SNES, but have played on other consoles a couple of times. Nearly not as much as the SNES though.

So I can't really have a favorite considering I haven't played the other consoles enough to know which one I actually like better.

But between the Gameboy and the SNES, I liked the SNES better.

Edit: As far as I know the PC isn't considered a console.

But I still prefer a PC above consoles.

PS1 is the best console I had owned before I turned the home PC into a toy.
My kids still play with the old PS1 and even I play some FFT sometimes.

For pure pleasure of playing I would have to say that NES beats all others hands down. I've spent countless hours playing computer games, D2 comes to mind, but those games require way too much thought and become boring. When I bust out the ol' Nintendo and play duckhunt it is by far the most enjoyment from a game that I get.

Welcome Brendon, Hunter of Ducks. Duck Hunter, eh? That is fowl business indeed. And on that note, I must fly...south. I know, my humour is lame (duck). Admit it, you just quacked a smile, didn't you? Luckily, these, ahem, jokes are free - no bill. Am I driving you Daffy yet?

Thanks. I needed to get that out of my system.
