Hi guys. Still play testing ideas to figure out how to farm virtues.

As soon as I make discoveries I will post them. As soon as I figure them all out, I will write an article for everyone to print out on what leads to the various virtues.

Here is what I need help with--Ideas are welcome Also, please help play-test the ideas and post results. Thx.

    Great warrior line.
In reading this entire line's description, Im pretty sure it gets triggered if your general kills his general. Im also pretty sure that it has to be the actual guy who kills him and not just your general's unit. I also suspect that it only happens from killing a King or a Prince or a General with more stars than your general, but Im not sure which.

    Autocrat line

    Natural Leader line

    Secret Heretic/Heretic Line
(ya, its minus 5 piety, but having v/v's like murderer, butcher, and heretic on a guy would just be cool looking and fun)...Inquisitors do not farm these out btw.

Here is what I discovered so far from farming

A provence with zeal 95-100, will ALWAYS produce units with a starting piety of 7-9 A provence with a low zeal will ALWAYS produce units with low piety.

Also. A character displays 10 V/V's. Just because 10 are shown, you still get the benefits/penalties for the 11th+ V/Vs even if not shown.

Ie--while trying to figure out how to trigger the Natural leader line, my 6 star guy who had 10 V/V's shown got skilled defender for his 11th V/V. The 11th V/V isnt shown.
He still went up to 7 stars.

Interesting research Atilla1 (Atilla the One?).

On that last point about 11+ V&Vs, how do you know about the 11th and higher if they don't display? Are you taking an educated guess base on what you were attempting to do and the correct adjustment to the general's stats?

yes, even though the 11th V/V isnt shown, your still getting the benefit/penalty.

If the 11th+ V/V didnt develop or give you penalties/bonuses, then it would have been impossible for my Jedi Guinea Pig to get increased stars from the Great Defender Virtues

I think this 11th v/v displayed in this window after turn.
Btw I farmed General with +3 command when defending and +1 when enemy forces are bigger more than 2 x,and skilled attacker .

The main V&Vs I've never seen develop on my own generals are the natural leader line, great warrior line and killer instinct line. I've got no idea how to get any of these to increase, or even appear in the first place.

I've started to get skilled attacker quite regularly now (I only ever used to see it on autoresolved battles), and you seem to be able to acquire it without actually having to kill/capture that many of the enemy too. It seems to bear more relation to the size of the enemy force and the number of casualties you suffer as far as I can gather. I routed a Spanish army of over 1000 yesterday (mine was equal in size) only killing/capturing about 180 of them in total and taking about 100 casualties myself. My general still picked up skilled attacker for that battle, so either I got lucky or it's the final outcome that matters rather than the kills/losses ratio.

In that same turn, I had what I'd considered to be a much more successful battle where I killed/captured the vast majority of the much larger Spanish force without losing many men myself, yet my general didn't gain any V&Vs in that one. I didn't kill the enemy general there though, so maybe that was a factor?

Before I'd always assumed it depended on killing lots of men and losing very few in comparison, but that doesn't seem to be the case.

    good point---lets do through it.

Great Warrior: He has a natural talent for combat, making him less likely to die in battle.

Might Warrior: His reputation for skill at arms is spreading as his fighting skills grow

Famous Warrior: He is famous for his skill on the battlefield. Few can match him in single combat.

Lets look at what we know from these traits---we know he is good at combat and wont die easily. We know he must be using fighting skills, because his reputation in this regard is growing. We he must be gaining these traits by doing SOMETHING on the battlefield---we just dont know what it is.

Lets look at some clues. His reputation for skill at arms is growing---hmmmmmm, could his reputation be growing because he is engaging other people who have a good reputation for skill at arms (like kings, princes, high star generals??)??? We can suspect that there is something going on with single combat between your general and someone else---probably the other general.
