So i figured this is as good a place as any to get some advice on what to do next to really enjoy the game.

i've conqured Europe 4 times now, 2 as England and 2 as Italy. I chose these two because of my interest in the history (and of course my own ancestry). Now I'm kinda bored with these two countries so I'm looking for something new. I know I could just play a muslim faction etc. but I was wondering if anyone else had some neato ideas for what to do to re-spice up the game a bit.

Lemme know what some of your favorite campaigns have been and we'll see where it goes from there.

    Thanks in advance all

The art of war is simple enough. Find out where your enemy is. Get at him as soon as you can. Strike him as hard as you can, and keep moving.

You could try the Russians, Byzantines or another eastern faction and use Mongol-style, all-cav forces.

Or you could install the Medmod. It's more a challence than the normal game.
    You can find it here.

So I've heard a lot about it but I'm kinda hesitant to instal MOD's because I don't really know what they do or how the effect my system. Does it permanently change it? Can I access my old saved games? Is it easy to uninstall? I'm a little cautios about these things sometimes

    Thanks again

I believe you can still play the original game but some things will be changed.
It's better to use a second installation of MTW.
At the moment I have MTW installed 3 times. 1 for Medmod, 1 for Hellenic TW and 1 for Napoleonic TW.
Of course you need a large HD to do this. With 120 GB in my pc it's not a problem at all

I finally upgraded to Viking Invasion recently and have been enjoying myself thoroughly in the raiding and pillaging business. It is a whole new ballgame compared to the traditional MTW campaign. If you haven't already, you should definitely look into getting the VI expansion.

    Looking for something new?

    Rom's right, go MP

You could go through the Historical Battles and Campaigns, that's always fun to do. You can try Spain GA roleplay. Try the Turks and learn how to fight with hybrid troops. Play only while drunk and naked

But if you really want to have some fun get online and test your skills against people. A 56K modem is adequate.

Lacker-simply copy directory TOTAL WAR to other disc/participation,and then manually copy files from Wes Mod (replacing all oryginal files MTW). It works.

lacker, maybe you would want to try the flip side of the coin and play french or sicilian GA, the nemesis of the factions you've played.

it's really interesting in terms of the changed perspective and both factions have interesting GA goals. Esp. the sicilians have a much harder time taking out the italians early on than the other way around.

Turks are great too, teaches you to manage awesome hybrids and 16 turcoman horse . It's crazy hard to manage an all missile cav army but is really powerful if you can do so.

Play the turks, they are a complete change of scenery and have some very awesome/unique units.
