Assuming you're referring to Vicky 1, both are excellent games. Haven't taken a crack at 2, but my general policy would be to wait on Paradox games- they tend to be a tad rough at the start, but they're usually very good at patching, updating, and generally improving the game. It *does* take time to learn the ropes, I will say, but it just feels so good when you can create improbable empires. With EUIII, I don't feel like its as imposing to try and go conquer excessively. Even creating a great empire, it sometimes just feels... idk, empty. With Vicky, you(or I, anyways), feel immense pride when you create a resurgent Persian Empire in the midst of European colonialism, or create a grand Texan Republic that spans the Atlantic to the Pacific, or rebuild China into the leader of the world.
