The Bolivia game is, uh, interesting.... Internal political turmoil is ridiculous, I was cruising with my nice, liberal, democratically elected gov't, with a decisive majority of the voting electorate voting liberal... and then some durned general goes and wrecks my precious democracy in a coup! I have 45% Swedish and 43% Danish and some other nationalities. My industry is really suffering Do you know what economy types are where the capis build the RRs? Mine atm is Interventionalist, which I thought did build them but they're not. I don't like building them myself they're so expensive.

At Interventionism, Capis do build RR's. They just don't build them in Planned Economy. They need less money in Laissez-Faire to build stuff, double of it in Interventionism and double of interventionism in State Capitalism.

Yeah I had heard about that. I remember reading on the VIP forum that it's the capitalists trying to build a factory that hasn't been unlocked by an invention.

As to their finances, I have no idea. However, it seems they are allied with Germany, who has been going ape crazy over in Europe. It seems Iceland was even poorer than Modena and didn't have a fleet or army at the point of invasion.

I think the question that's foremost in my mind isn't "how", but "why"? What earthly reason could Modena possibly have for invading & annexing Iceland? I fail to see how they could have any strategic interest there.

Common Paradoxian behavior. A crappy country get a reason to attack another (ie. Casus Belli) through random events, declare war, send a fleet of 2 ships and an army of 2 infantry/divisions and annex another crappy country on the other end of the map.

Conflicts between Corsica and Athens or Arboreto and another one province blakanic/turkish kingdom is fair game in my EUIII MEIOU game.

Tried a Vicky-Ricky-VIP game as Greece. I'm not very good. Constantly alt-tabbing to paradoxian.org. I managed to steal Crete when the Second Oriental Crisis flaired up, with the help of my British Allies, well they did almost all the work, I just took Crete itself, waiting for my warscore to go high enough then sued for peace.



Note the ruling party is the Reactionary Russian Faction... Yeh, I was holding an election when all of Greece's militancy events kick in.

Yeah, it's tough to get any cash flow, my only exports are grain, cotton, fruit and sulphur. I managed to save up enough to buy 2 clippers so I can actually convoy effectively. Plus some industrial techs have brought up my income/exports. Unfortunately Russia attacked the Ottomans and the UK attacked Russia, so I lost two allies and the possibility of attacking the Ottomans. I banned the British Faction since they were going to be elected (all my clergy are Liberal, 56% of voters, 10% of population) and that really would have stung my militancy levels. I keep getting liberal and socialist events, which I don't want. I could use some conservative/reactionary ones to convert my clergy back to conservative.

Interesting game so far. Playing as Austria I allied with Germany in early 37' to hopefully avoid the Anchluss(sp?). Well I declared war on Hungary not long after I allied to Germany and annexed them. Italy had a GoI on Hungary and declared war on me not long after I had annexed them. So then we basically destroyed Italy, but Italy wouldn't accept any of my peace deals so I created a Italian Social Republic as a puppet. I left the alliance with Germany not long after that. WW2 was not fun to watch Germany was completely destroyed by France and SU. Then the US declared war on SU(91 belligerence) and then the SU declared war on Japan. I made the Allies declare war on the SU because I thought it would make it a bit more interesting.

Finally, I have Brazil comparatively isolated in South America. Chile, Argentina, Venezuela, Panama, and Paraguay are all my satelites. I'm hoping Brazil takes bait and declares war on me, so I might turn the entire continent against them....
edit: And the alliance offers were basically for **** and giggles, on the off chance that I might get lucky and actually just have a really nice, safe bastion in South America. Not to be... >:(

A bit of Civ IV: Colonization. Unfortunately won't win this particular game, but I was rather amused by my "capital", New Amsterdam. I've got two merchantmen running back and forth continually to my continental cities so I can keep funneling in the resources I need to keep the industry booming.
