Hey all,
Playing MTW 1.1 medmod 1.85 as Poland.
I started in the early period, its 1136 and I have built Poland up technologically while bribing Pommerania, Prussia, and the province directly east of poland (cant remember the name.
I am currently allied with:
Spain- Still isolated on Iberia and slugging it out with almohads, occasionally Portugal rebels but Spain holds it for now. Basically there a non factor for me.
England- They offered a royal marriage and I took it. England is at war with France and its been a slug fest, however the english do have Ireland and scotland. France is in a war with the HRE and is slowly loosing ground.
Denmark - They have built a nice little northern empire. Home provinces and Sweden, Livonia, and Finland. In addition they constantly invade Lithuania and get removed. (I was removed as well twice).
Kievens - there in a pinch, they lost Kiev to rebels, and have been trying to recapture it invein for 15+ years.
Those are my allies. Now here is they situation, the Byz empire is kicking some major A$$ and has elimiated Hungary I dont know what the turks or the egyptians are doing but I have 3 900+ Byz armies sitting in hungary...
I have been building and have 3 armies, 2 consist of 5-7 spearmen, 3-5 bowmen, 2 catapults, and one royal knight division. The 3rd army is 960 polish retainers. I constructed them with the intention of hitting the HRE as they were excommunicated and having the retainers as a supprort force when the HRE hit back. Then Hungary fell and I held off plans to invade HRE because frankly, the Byz empire looks poised to expand again, and my 3 armies might be the catlyst for them to look elsewhere.
So thier in lies my paradox, I have Kiev ready and waiting to be taken, I have the armies to do it, in addition I can probably take Lithuania. Do I go east? do I go at the HRE? or do I sit and wait for the Byz to make thier move?
If I go on the offensive and the Byz empire attack it might be end game for me, I have nominal defense forces.
Any advice much appreciated.
