This is something i briefly looked up around the forums and found no reference to.
Can you build a historical battle (like the ones that come with the game, Agincourt etc...)?
And when doing so can you design your generals so that they reflect history?
Here's an example. The Battle of Aljubarrota. The last attempt by the Spanish to conquer Portugal by force, if i'm not wrong.
There were 6000-7000 on the Portuguese side, 30 000 Spanish. On a normal day Spain was destined to win. But the Spanish king was leading the troops himself and he was sick so he stood away from the battle.
The head of the Spanish army was made up of impetuous young knights that charged unsupported at the sight of the Portuguese side.
On the other hand Portuguese counted on some 800 English longbow-men, and half their knights dismounted. Their leader was a charismatic pious knight with good tactical thinking.
They were deployed as a square, designed to box the enemy in a prepared terrain (trap-holes were dug full of pikes etc).
The charging Spanish knights were decimated, as the Portuguese front line gave in to let them into the trap, and closed behind them. And routed causing a severe morale hit on the remaining troops that together with the lack of leadership caused the Spanish to give up.
Overall there were only several hundred casualties, nothing too big considering the potential of the armies.
Now in order to design this battle it is essential to accurately simulate the leaderships, giving the Generals the appropriate vices and virtues.
