I wonder if someone can help me with this. I want to edit the unit tabs that you see in battle where the unit info is placed, like fatigue, ammo etc. Specifically, I'd like to edit the background of these tabs into something semi-transparent. What files do I need to edit in order to accomplish this?

Did u ever discover what file to edit for this?

I'm sure you can change the background, can't find the file at the moment. But you cannot make it semi-transpararent. Perhaps you can make use the transparent green together with a real colour to approach semi-transparent, like this:

_* * *
* * *
Where * is the transparent colour. This will will only be possible if the background image is a BIF with the first colour as green. Check it in readbif.

not got all my software installed yet, so i cannot chekc file formats
i think they are the /battle/uniticons/...
which are lbms
lbms cannot be made transparent

The uniticons can indeed not be made transparent, it has be a BIF file. But perhaps you can still make the surrounding background transparent.
No I wanna edit the actual tab - not the icon - i cant seem to find the file anywhere for the tab - I kjnow how to edit the LBM - anyone had luck with this b4
