Just watched the little trailer for it...and this is far from an rtw clone. RTW looks 50x better, even with it's flaws.

When the guys went into combat and the killing started, they just flopped onto the ground like they were hit by a gust of wind. Plus the robot like marching, and the plain looking terrain. ugh...the team has a long way to go with this little "fantasy" game.

Maybe not as good as RTW, but I sure hope that RTW also has this feature:

Although you can always pause the game and have complete control over all units, I think it will be very interesting to make 3 battles (after I made RTW into MTW again) and assign subcommanders to the other 2 battles. The games will be more hard fought and SP will almost feel like MP, depending on others instead of that lonely feel that I always have when it's 1on1 vs the AI.

Edit: for the non-historical fanatics ( ), a battle is also an army subdivision.

Now this is why someone should mod RTW to become MTW. Just look at those human men-at-arms

It's a non-TW game thread, this is the non-TW games forum. Only RTW belongs in the Colosseum, it's potential rivals belong here.

Perhaps, but if this topic stayed in the Colosseum it would harm my ambition to control all non-TW games threads, and Mith accepted my bribe

More seriously all non-TW games go in here, otherwise what is the point of having a games forum? There are several other games in here being compared to TW games, Crusader Kings for example. Any points that this game has and you feel RTW needs to have can be raised in one of the many RTW should have X topics, but discussion of the game itself belongs in here.

we can only hope it's a clone, because if it is, we can assume RTW also has this:

The built-in AI is a multilevel system capable of imitating behavioral models of a human player as well as modeling behavioral stereotypes of known military leaders. Its implementation is based on organic synthesis of modified fuzzy logic systems, a wide range of optimization methods and criterion functions, based on the foundation of centuries of military history.

    Thumbs down

It looks like they dumped the turn based strategy part of TW. The campaign is a just series of linked battles. Too bad. Sounds like there's not much here regarding replay value.

The MP crowd may like it though. No reason the units can't be balanced, being totally fictitious.

    Agreed.

It looks cool, and some features sound interesting (like customizing the equipment), but without the campmap strategy it's not worth my money.

Cheap clone maybe, but it still looks good. I'm already thinking about getting it. Does anyone have any idea when it will be out?
