i think this board has "magically disappearing"

i may be going senile, but it seems that this board often has posts which magically disappear and then re-appear sporadically later on

just now i made another post in one of my threads, and although it seems to have went thru and indicates that the last post in that thread was in fact by me, when i click on that thread at the moment, my post is not there

i have also noticed that in the past when i come back to reading threads i've made for the 3rd of 4th time - i came upon entirely new posts which i've never read before; the reason i had never read them is because they were not THERE at the time i re-visited the thread, despite having been MADE prior to that visit of mine. those new posts occur in those threads BEFORE the real new posts - jumbled in together with old posts that i'd read before.

the first few times i noticed this phenomenon i was just like WTF - am i going crazy? but now that i have just seen it happen right before me eyes, i deduce that this board does have a major magically disappearing posts issue

i hope you guys take this seriously cuz i'm not insane or anything

That's probably because your browser loads recently visited websites from the cache of your computer.
You should hit your refresh-button (or F5) once in a while.

What Leo said is true, and there may also be some other cases, but I have experienced a glitch on another Ikonboard too. The latest post in a topic sometimes is not displayed, this seems to happen when a new page is added to store the topic posts. When you add a reply it becomes visible. That board uses a DBM database, this one a MySQL one. Not sure whether that matters, but the DBM database causes more problems.

It's possible to insert new posts (recently did that for the beginners guide, as frogbeastegg needs a new post). Moderators also have tools to merge related topics.

It's a bit of everything:

-F5 (page refresh)
-A bit of illusionism, not insanity Example two people replied at the same time, but you needed 20 minutes to write up and the other was finished in 10 seconds.
-Probably also a board/database glitch.
-Administrator inserts posts at times.
-Moderators merging closely related topics.


What do you exactely mean:

Does the dis/re-appear happen sporadically, or do posts disappear and then sporadically re-appear? The former can be explained by the above, the latter much less so.
