    I wonder if, by setting every faction's behaviour to DEFENSIVE_TRADER, one could make AI less prone to unprovoked and strategically meaningless aggressions. Anyone tried this?

    Yup, I took avay all "catholic-expansionist" and replaced them with "catholic-defensive" ones. This worked out so well that I´m going to re-work all the factions now. So, in all my games at the present the catholic factions now behave in a more "normal" way and don´t rampage around Europe, builds better infrastructure and units too.
